I have had somewhat of a dry spell with the camera recently. Life (yes the other bit of life, as opposed to just photography) has been somewhat busy. I guess also this time of year is a landscapers worst really. Very early sunrises and late sunsets seem less achievable to capture without missing lots of sleep. So it was nice to actually get to some different locations and be in a position to grab some images.
First up was a couple of hours spent at Burnham on Sea, on the Somerset coast. I was hoping for a spectacular sunset, instead it was an ok sunset. Not being a man who gives in, I chose to make the most of what I had. The short lighthouse makes for an excellent subject. The tide was on its way out but when I arrived it was in far enough for a long exposure. Then as I waited around we sort of got some colour to allow some sunset images.
Later the same week, I was in Cardiff for the night. Here I did not really have a plan other than to walk around the area I was staying in. It was later in the day, and the so was setting in a cloudless sky. So I chose to wait till dusk and night to get a couple of shots. Firstly I liked the view of Cardiff Bay, with the ST Davids Hotel. Then a couple of shots utilising the full moon…
I’m still using the NX1 by Samsung and it just makes it very easy to capture shots like above… Happy Days.
