Black and White Photography
Black and White, or Mono Photography can be extremely powerful as a medium. Some people specialise in it, I don’t but the right scene will sometimes jump out to me as being perfect in mono.
Dignity Mist – Plymouth
Start Point Mono
Pier – 120 seconds of Saltburn Pier. It was early and windy, and I was searching for a sunrise, it was a bit disappointing so grabbed this shot instead…
Bahia Palace – Marrakech
Milarrochy Mono – Just after rainfall at Loch Lomond.
Marina Morning Mono – A very calm and still summers morning at Hull Marina, treated to a mono process. Who new Hull could look so good? Hull will be the City Of Culture 2017
Black Rock Cottage – The iconic location at the foot of Glencoe Ski Center
The Old Man of Storr – Need I say more? The view from up here was breathtaking, so was the climb up there!
Black Rock Cottage – Another well shot location, and in very typical Scottish weather fashion, as I pulled up to take this shot it was raining. By the time I had my tripod up it was sunny? You can see Buachaille Etive Mor in the background.
Amongst the Giants – London Skyline
British Natural History Museum Mono – NX1
Exeter Quay at Night
Admiral von Trump Shipwreck – Saltwick Bay, near Whitby, is the location for this shot of the Admiral Von Trump shipwreck and Black Nab. Taken at dawn this mono shot makes use of the excellent early light.
Aldeburgh Boat Mono – Samsung NX1 – 12-24mm Lens
Mono Herdsman – The sun does appear!
