I have been using the Samsung NX1 now for quite a while, as part of the Samsung Imagelogger program. For me the jump up from the NX1000 to this beast has been absolutely superb. The initial period of 8 weeks is up now, my commitments to Samsung fulfilled, but hopefully not finished.
I have seen improved dynamic range, less noise, better focus abilities, and not to mention the extra mega pixels. This camera has also opened doors, with me making strides into becoming a professional photographer. I would not even of considered taking commissions before, but now, when I walk into a shoot, I have the confidence in my equipment. It looks like a professional camera.

We all know that the camera is just a tool for the photographer, and yes that is correct it is. However we also all know that the better quality of your tools, the better the results you are able to get. For example the NX1 has allowed me to take shots of things I had never tried before, its 15fps continuous shooting capabilities have been used many a time now by me, I love it. Another side effect of having this very capable bit of kit in my camera bag has been that it has also pushed me to improve my skills, that’s also always a good thing.
In my limited, yet ever increasing knowledge of Photography and Camera’s I have to put the Samsung up there as the best camera I have used, and probably the best camera in its class. Five stars from me.
I questioned in the title whether this was the end of a journey? It is not with the NX1, this will continue to be my main camera in the camera bag. As for what’s next, well that we will see soon…
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the NX1 so far!
