I was lucky enough to be staying in the North East of the UK, and as I had always admired pictures of St Mary’s lighthouse, went for an early morning visit. Its a great location (very easy to get to) and I was extremely lucky with the weather.
On my way to the lighthouse the colour in the sky started to develop pre dawn, it was going to be a good one. When you see this as a photographer, it puts a massive smile on your face. You kind of say a little thank you to the weather gods. I had never personally visited this location before and know it is tide dependant, when I arrived the tide was on its way out but still a little high. This did not stop me getting a good few great shots anyway.
For those that are not aware where this place is then it’s basically very easy to find. It’s very near Whitley Bay, North Tyneside.
There is parking available on location.
